Exciting: We're Getting Some Dialogue Going Now

CONVERSATIONAL QUESTION FOR TOMORROW: WHAT TOPIC WOULD YOU LIKE TO DISCUSS HERE?

This from Betsy, mother of one first year college student (she has much to share about this roller-coaster ride of "Come here, come here; get away, get away." "I heard something really good on a CD I listen to in the car.

So often we are in a relationship with a child or a spouse or a boss and our attitude towards them is “You have to behave differently for me to be happy,” or “You are responsible for my happiness.”

But really, it is exactly with these people, and all people in our lives, that we have to say, “I release you from being responsible for my happiness. I’ll handle that myself.”

The next step is, when you think about that person, to deliberately and frequently focus on any possible positive aspect you can appreciate about that person. Your whole being will change with that change in vibration, and you will find your interactions to be different and more satisfying."

From Mary (SIXTY AND SINGLE IN SEATTLE, http://marysreallife.blogspot.com):
"Been enjoying your posts, and now I've signed on as a follower. Wanted today to respond to your thought for the day and say, how about, Do for yourself today what you most wish someone would do for you!"
and my response: "Yes. That certainly is a positive way to put this saying to use. I'm thinking in terms of compassion, understanding and a listening ear. Of course it's very much the same as the golden rule and I think of it mire in the sense of being than doing. "

From Tamara, mother of six, ages 1 to 10: " For the past two days I've been thinking about the benefits of not having over scheduled kids!! Or video games or lots of battery operated toys!! My kids have been outside catching crickets, moths, frogs for two days straight...from Mina to Elijah they have been completely engrossed. They have made several "habitats", and have been conducting experiments. If we were rushing all over the place from one event to the next in our truck, or if we had tons of prefabricated indoor entertainment I wonder how much of this exploration would have taken place?
Ahhh, what summer memories are made of! Pretty cute, when Elijah shows his love for Bella by giving her one of the "cool crickets that flies"!"

Bella and Maurice were able to go meet a horse named "Dream" today. Bella was able to brush the horse, watch him have his back adjusted, and ride him!! She had the official riding helmet on and everything. What a natural!

Better go..my "Feed Me I'm Yours" granola is ready...the tradition loves on.

I'd better wrap it up for now. I have to be Paintergirl in the studio today. Give yourselves a big giggle and a pinch on the cheek from Mimi, okay? Paintings pictured above: Micah (an addition to the original painting of the first 16 grandchildren): Mother and Child (actually Tamara and Micah)
